How to build links & rank in Google post penguin

Hi ,

It's been a long time since I've sent
anything out.

Truth is, we aren't doing a whole lot
in the Internet Marketing world anymore.

I'll tell you more why over the coming
weeks, but let's just say that this month
we hit nearly $200k for just one of our
Ecommerce stores.

Over the next few weeks we're going
to be bringing a few of our services
back onto the market, but before we do
that, I wanted to give you some help
on how you should be building links.

Penguin was all about links.

I really don't care what other people
say, we've successfully pulled multiple
sites out of penguin now, I base my
opinions (no one knows for certain) off
of experience, and facts.

Most specifically, it was about anchor
text distribution (that and link diversity)

Were you like most people and were
building links by pure anchor text?

Chances are you were smashed on the
24th of April or the 25th May.

Can you recover from Penguin?

Yes

Can you do anything about it?

Yes

Here's the thing, think of the anchor
text (the words) in your links as a
threshold, go above a certain amount,
and you'll get flagged, go higher and
you'll be either auto dropped or dropped
the next time a "refresh" happens.

So here's what you need to do.

Let's say you sell red widgets.

When you build your links, you need to
do it in the following format:

60% of your links should be either
generic (e.g. click here) or brand
and URL based (e.g.
www.redwidgetdomain.com/redwidgets.html)

30% of your links should be phrase based
with the anchor text contained within
(e.g. click here to find out about red
widgets)

10% of your links should be direct match
anchor text based (e.g. red widgets)

The crazy thing is, paid links, still
work. Blog networks (that are not
private) still work.

Google played an amazing shell game
and caused a great deal of fear in
SEO'ers around the world.

It was beautiful.

So, rule of thumb for 2012 and beyond
in building links, get your links to
be diverse.

More link types, more varied anchor
text.

Sincerely,

Daniel Turner
