It is also not the cleanest environment in which to grow up. All human life and behaviour is there. Even the most popular sites considered 'safe' for young people are difficult to moderate. There are many potential risks to children and young people using social networking. For all the benefits of instant community, there is also the potential for misuse: cyber-bullying, grooming and potential abuse by on-line predators, identity theft and exposure to inappropriate content not only adult pornography, but incitement to self-harm, racism and terrorism.
