| How to Transfer Domain To GoDaddy Posted: 01 Sep 2012 08:11 AM PDT Google ranks my article How to Transfer Domain out of GoDaddy for search terms related to transferring domains into GoDaddy. So I thought I will write an article on how to transfer domain into GoDaddy. I will be demonstrate step by step transfer process by transferring the domains from NameCheap into GoDaddy and if you are planning to transfer your domain into GoDaddy, you can use my affiliate link and GoDaddy will share a commission with me at no extra cost to you. Before we can begin a transfer, make sure your contact details especially administrative contact email for the domain is correct. If the contact details are not correct, make the necessary changes before proceeding further. 1. Unlock Domain in Current RegistrarUnlock the domain for transfer and get the EPP code or Transfer code for the domain. In NameCheap you can find those information under the Registrar Lock Option from the left navigation. Once you have unlocked the domain you want to transfer and have the EPP code for the domain, you can visit GoDaddy.com and place your domain transfer order. 2. Authorize transferOnce the payment is confirmed you will have few emails. Let them be as they are and visit the domain control center of GoDaddy and Select the Pending Transfer Menu. Click on Authorize link and it will ask for Transaction ID and security code. You will find them in one of the emails that GoDaddy sent you just after making payment for your order. The subject line will be “Transfer of DOMAIN.COM – Action Required“. This email is sent to the Administrative contact email for the domain you are transferring and not to your GoDaddy Email. After you enter the Transaction ID and security code, you can proceed to step 2 and it will ask for Authorization Code, which is the EPP code, generated in our current domain registrar. In this case NameCheap. Once authorization code is accepted, you should see the following message. 3. Optional Final StepIn few minutes you should have an email for accepting the domain transfer request where you don’t need to do anything but you can instantly accept the transfer request if you want. All done from your end and it may take some time for the domain to show up in the list of your domains in GoDaddy. More Related Posts: |
