Here's a Powerful Concept Before I get into explaining that step-by-step system, I'd like to share a simple, but powerful concept that can help any business make more sales, more easily. Most small businesses make the mistake of asking for the sale immediately. They run what I call 'One-Step' ads that try to sell their product or service in one, quick and easy step. Anyone who has tried that approach knows how frustrating it is. Very few people respond to that approach. They often don't know enough about you or your business at that point to make an informed buying decision. The more you press, the more frustrating it becomes. Mike, a small business owner, was using that approach and wasn't happy with his results. Actually, that's an understatement, he was ready to give up, and shut his business down. That's how bad his results were. We showed Mike that his approach was all wrong for a small business. Clear and to the point -- pure and simple. You've heard us say a million times, that 'Marketing is all about helping people get what they want.' Well, telling people what you have for them, is a direct extension of that concept. Hopefully, what you have for people is something that they actually 'want.' If you don't have what they want, then they are not going to respond no matter what you say. Should you tell everyone what you have? NO! You should only tell the people who 'want' what you are offering. Anyone else is a waste of your time, money and energy. This is called Targeting.
