How To Create Application Shortcut Tiles On Windows Phone 7.5

Posted: 13 Aug 2012 08:49 AM PDT

Windows Phone 7.5 or the latest released Windows Phone 8 are probably the most underrated operating systems as far as mobile OS goes. The WP brand of products have steadily held the third position behind Android and iOS in the leading market captures as far as mobile goes. However, there are loads of features that a lot of people do not know about the WP 7.5 range of devices. One such question I get asked often is the ability to add application shortcuts to the main window. You might have downloaded the application from the market but often you may wonder how to add a tile for the same for quick access. We have the solution right here for you. All you have to do is follow these extremely easy steps and you will have your application ready to be quick launched.

Step 1: Open the application menu where all the applications of your device are displayed.

Step 2: Hold on to the application that you wish to pin as the tile on the main menu.

Step 3: Select the option “pin to start”

That is all you have to do. Now you will see the application will be  visible in a big icon on your home screen. You can move this icon or tile to the place you wish to by holding on to the tile and simply placing it where you please to do so. It is an extremely easy way to customize your home screen. In case you wish to take the tile off the home menu after having put it, all you have to do is, long press the tile again on the home menu and click on the unpin icon ha aears on he o righ corner. Hence yo can easily remove he ile oo.

Hope this little tweak helped you make your home screen on the Windows 7.5 range of devices cleaner and better.
