Despite being in my early 30s I do enjoy me a good
"gross out" comedy.
Actually, they don't even need to be that good...
Which is why I enjoyed Hall Pass after watching it
recently.
It's about Rick (Owen Wilson) and Fred (Jason Sudeikis)
who are suffering something of a mid-life crisis and are
given a "Hall Pass" - a week off being married where
they can do "anything" they want.
Although, quite why they'd want time-off from either
Jenna Fischer or Christina Applegate is anybody's guess.
But, they got their wish.
After a series of predictable mishaps and one
particularly grim bathroom scene, viewers were rewarded
with the boys' obligatory reconciliation with their
wives at the end of the movie.
The message was simple:
The grass isn't always greener on the other side.
This is something I have learned when it comes to
Internet Marketing.
Over the years I have been guilty of chasing shiny
objects...
Looking for an easier, "sexier" way of making money
online.
I've wasted thousands of dollars and countless hours on
hot young things like CPA marketing, "underground" blog
networks, mass social bookmarking and plenty more whores
of the marketing world besides.
I've learned the hard way that all they do is serve to
distract you.
Ultimately, no good will come from fraternising with
them.
If you are being lead astray in your business at the
moment, what you need to do is stop messing around...
And go home to Pam from The Office.
For me, this is email marketing.
I've returned to it every single time with my tail
between my legs after a "hall pass" to something
different just lead to disappointment...
And less money than I started with.
Sometimes it pays to stick to what you know.
