Spam comments are everywhere on web. I have seen most of the web masters saying spam comments are a headache for them. They have to edit/delete thousands of spam comments per day. This is because most of the comments are generated through automated programs. Specially the people who are known as SEO experts make those spam links as comments. Earlier this is a big headache for me too, until I found following plugin on Google search.

I am using this comment spam preventing plugin with Commentluv comment form, the best comment form I ever found. To prevent spam comments you need to install this plugin on your wordpress blog.

First of all I want to say this is a FREE plugin. This is build up for commentluv premium, but it works with free version of commentluv too. This plugin is known as Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin. This plugin is a creation of Andy Bailey from Growmap.com. This is a great prevent spam comment plugin I came across so far.

How Growmap Anti Spam comment plugin works to prevent spam comments

This plugin will insert a check box just below your comment form. Without checking it readers can’t submit their comments. Spam bots are unable to check this box to submit comments on your blog. Check the screenshot below to see how check box appears on my comment form.

Even though it is a spam preventing method, it is not a headache for the readers since it does’t consists of annoying captcha codes. What your readers have to do is just check it and post their comment. Previously I used some kind of captcha plugin to stop spam comments. But it reduces by comment count significantly. After adding this plugin in my comment form, it improves my comment count significantly.
