5 Tips to Better Public Speaking

Hi Fellows, Why is public speaking one of our biggest fears? If you think about it, this actually explains a lot as to why the few that do it well, get paid very well. Here are 5 really great tips on how to raise the quality of your public speaking: 1. Watch the Masters - Note their style, habits, and so on. Know your Material from experience - It comes out more naturally, there is better flow, no need for memorization and it will be easier to trust yourself and relax. 3. Videotape yourself practicing - There is a reason why most of us don't like listening to ourselves on the answering machine! We realize so many things we can improve. Video tape yourself and watch it and learn from it until you're happy with the results! 4. Visualization - Imagine yourself delivering the information in the exact room that you'll be presenting in with the same sized audience and picture it all going smoothly. (don't underestimate the power of visualization). 5. Know your audience - Speak their language and present for their level of expertise (e.g. Newbies, Intermediate, Pros). It's about them not you. Bonus Tip: 6. It's okay to make mistakes - Feel free to laugh if you make a mistake. People don't expect perfection but they expect to enjoy and learn from the experience otherwise they wouldn't have showed up - the key is in EDUTAINMENT! Be educational and entertaining.
